Willys-Overland Jeepster, 1948. Designed by Brooks Stevens to bridge the gap between the utilitarian Jeep and more luxurious passenger cars. It was the last phaeton produced by a major automaker. It sold well below Willys expectations and was discontinued in 1950

Flat Fender? Semi-Flat Fender? Does a Jeepster belong here at FFF?
The Willys-Overland Jeepster was produced between 1948 and 1950 and was the last phaeton body style produced by a major auto maker. The Jeepster was available only in rear wheel drive with the Go-Devil 4 cylinder as the only powerplant in 1948. In late 1949 and through 1950, the Lightning straight 6 cylinder was offered as an option while the Hurricane 4 cylinder replaced the Go-Devil as the standard engine for 1950. Sales never really took off with the Jeepster with just 19,132 made over its 3 year run-10,326 in 1948, 2960 in 1949 and 5836 in 1950.
After Kaiser and Jeep merged in 1953, they eventually re-introduced a version of the Jeepster as the Jeepster Commando in 1966. The Commando was offered as a Roadster, Station Wagon, Convertible and a Pickup.
